If you have an associate's degree in early childhood education, you can now take your career one step further. A bachelor's degree provides the opportunity to increase your knowledge and expand your influence as an educator. A Type 04 Certification entitles you to work with children from birth through grade 3 and to teach Pre-K through Grade 3 in public schools. A state of Illinois Special Education Approval to teach students with special needs to age 6 is built into the certification program.
